Mask and Stain removal instructions
This mask and stain removal guide will help you touch up the lites on your door if the prefinishing process happens to add some stain to the glass.
Tools
  • Utility Knife
  • Magic Eraser
  • Flat Razor
  • Glass Cleaner
  • Paper Towels
Materials
Removing Masks and Stain
Skill Level: Beginner
  1. Cut perimeter of mask
    Using a utility knife, cut along the perimter of the glass while holding the knife at a 45 degree angle towards the edge of the door.
  2. Peel off mask
    Peel the plastic from the surface of the glass. Lightly sweep, blow, or vacuum to remove as many of the "flakes" of stain as possible.
  3. Apply glass cleaner
    Spray the glass with glass cleaner.
  4. Remove large pieces of stain.
    Using a flat razor blade, scrape any large pieces of excess stain from the surface of the glass.
  5. Use magic eraser
    Next, use the Magic Eraser pad to remove any remaining adhesive or stain.
  6. Dry glass
    Finally, use a paper towel to dry the glass surface.
