Changing swing on a steel door
Instructions for changing the swing on a steel door.
Hinge Reversing Procedure
Skill Level: Beginner
  1. Lay door flat
    Lay the door on saw horses with the hinge knuckles up.
  2. Open Door
    After removing the retaining clip and frame spacers, open the door.
  3. Remove hinges
    Remove the nine hinge screws from the door
  4. Lift and turn
    Lift and turn the panel end for end. Do not move the frame.
  5. Reattach to hinges
    Flip the panel over to reattach the hinges.
  6. Install sweep and parting stop
    Install the parting stop at the top of the door frame. Install the sweep at the bottom of the door panel. Refer to the instruction sheet for correct orientation.
  7. Close door
    Close the door panel back into the frame and replace frame spacers.
